Century & half century cycling events

The Petaluma Sunrise Rotary Foundation will be hosting its annual Sonoma County Backroad Challenge cycling Event on May 21, 2011. The event will raise funds for our club’s many local and international service projects, which include supporting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Petaluma, and the Sonoma County Science Fair and Olympiad in Petaluma. Internationally, our club is supporting the La Jagua School in the Dominican Republic, with school supplies, getting a fresh water supply to the school, and more.
We are asking for your support in making this event a success. There are several ways to lend your support: You can donate your time as a volunteer at our event, donate money as an event sponsor or best of all sign up to ride your bike as a participant in our event. Sign up at www.backroadchallenge.com. A Rotary Volunteer will follow up in person to ask for your support.
Rotary International is the world’s first service club organization and its more than 1.2 million members volunteer their time and talent to further the Rotary motto, Service Above Self. Rotary’s programs and service opportunities are designed to help Rotarians meet needs in their own communities and reach out to assist people in need worldwide by focusing on the advancement of world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty. Our fundraising efforts will be used to enhance both the Petaluma and international communities in which we live and we can’t do it without your generous support!
Thank you for your support of Petaluma Sunrise Rotary Foundation and our service projects.
Sincerely,
Randy Benefield, President
