INTEGRITY…What is it good for

I have finally succumbed to the fact that blogging is here to stay. We are all so inundated with social media “noise” that I have resisted blogging as it represents yet another source. But then as I contemplated it more blogging could provide me a way to express how I felt about certain ideas, principles and notions to an audience in an unthreatening way…so here I go with my first blog.
Integitry…what is it good for (anyone that can tell me what song this sounds like and the band gets a free lunch)
Webster’s dictionary defines integrity as…1: firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values : incorruptibility
Does this definition resonate with any one? I suspect that you are saying “yep” right now. So what ever happened to integrity in business dealings? Why have I experienced anything BUT integrity in recent encounters with suppliers, advisors and associates? I think it is because it is easy to say we have “integrity” but it is hard to live it day to day. Our society has become a society of lip service and has lost the most important part of anything we do…action. Our immediate gratification need has pushed us to say things that we can’t really deliver…your saying “yep” right now aren’t you? Well I can tell you that there still are a few of us out there…people that will shake your hand and deliver what we say. We won’t over commit and under deliver, we won’t tell you what you want to hear we will be truthful, we will deal in a manner that has integrity.
